Kim Paulley

Since receiving her B.Mus in Voice from UBC in 1985, Kim has performed regularly in opera and concerts, including many seasons as a chorus member and soloist with Pacific Opera Victoria and Calgary Opera.

Recent solo highlights include: Tatania, The Fairy Queen (2019) & La Messaggera and La Speranza, L’Orfeo (2018) Denman Island Baroque Music Festival;  Her recital, The Blue Hour, (2016) with Margaret McLynn (piano); Soprano Soloist, Stabat Mater, Pergolesi, Calgary Baroque String Orchestra (2015)

Other highlights include, Yum Yum, The Mikado, Victoria Gilbert and Sullivan Society;  Zweite Magd, Daphne, Pacific Opera Victoria; Sister Genevieve, Suor Angerlica, Victoria Conservatory of Music.

Her dream sing is anything Puccini, and singing standards like the goddesses of jazz, Ella and Sarah.

For close to a decade, Kim has taught Elementary school and Music classes with the Victoria School District, and more recently the Campbell River School  District. She is currently enjoying teaching on call, alternately between Victoria and Campbell River, living a kind of double life that allows this Mahler sojourn and more visits with her darling daughter and grandaughters whilst in Victoria.

In her spare time, Kim designs renos with her husband, with cats on laps, or simply rearranges the furniture!
