A town lies in the valley, the pale day is fading. Before long, neither moon nor stars, but night alone will fill the sky. Mist presses down from the mountains and over the town. No sound penetrates the smoke, not a tower, nor a bridge. Just as the traveller trembled, fearful, a faint song of praise rose up through the fog from the mouth of a child.
